Camp La-No-Che
Paisley, FL

Sunday, June 24: We arrived at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church at 5:30 am. Garrett prayed for a safe trip there and at 6:00 we boarded the bus and left on the long eight hour drive to camp La-No-Che. We arrived and got off the bus and went to take a group picture. After the group picture, it was just our luck that it started pouring down rain. After the rain concluded we were escorted to our campsite. Then we unloaded our stuff, set up our tents, and went to dinner. After dinner we went back to camp and relaxed from the long trip. Then about 45 minutes later, we were supposed to have a campfire but it got rained out so we had to watch the movie called Robots. Then after the movie we headed back to our campsite talked a little bit about the next day and we headed to bed excited for what lay ahead.

Monday, June 25: The mile swimmers awoke at 5:30 am and did their swim test and practiced the mile swim. Also other people in camp awoke at 5:30 am and did the mile run. The rest of the troop, and the mile runners took the swim test after the mile swim was over. We headed back to camp to quickly change and assemble for breakfast. After breakfast was over, we dashed back to camp to get our gear and head out to our classes. Classes took up the whole day until dinner, but they were really fun though. We were supposed to do a service project but it got rained out. That night the troop broke up and went to see a movie or go on a night hike. After the movie was over, we headed back to camp where we had a meeting and everyone took a short shower. After we all showered we went to bed in preparation for the next day.

Tuesday, June 26: At 5:30 am every mile runner/swimmer awoke to meet at their places and go do the mile run or swim. After that we went to classes again for the whole day only stopping for lunch. After classes were over, we went to camp but instead of waiting around for dinner, we immediately dressed and went on the Big Stump Hike. This hike was awesome. There was mud everywhere. No one came out of there clean! On the way back some of us lost our shoes to the mud and almost everyone threw away their dirty clothes. We arrived to dinner where after waiting patiently in line, ate a well deserved hot meal. Then we went to camp and took showers so we could get clean, had a troop meeting, and headed off to bed.

Wednesday, June 26: Once again the mile swimmers and runners woke up at 5:30am. Later the rest of the troop woke up and we all went to breakfast. Once breakfast was over, we headed out to our classes once again for the whole day. After all our classes we went to the troop rifle shoot. Everyone did well at the rifle shoot, so we left happily for dinner. After dinner we watched a movie and we headed back to camp, took showers, and went to sleep waiting for SeaWorld the next day.

Thursday, June 27: SeaWorld! The whole camp woke up and got on the bus for SeaWorld. We arrived at SeaWorld where we were taken to our instructors who taught us about the animals at SeaWorld. After the educational program was over, we went to eat our sack lunches. After lunch we divided up into groups and went all around SeaWorld for an action packed day of rides. The ultimate ride was Kraken. We rode that roller coaster at least 5 times. After Kraken we went back to Shamoo stadium to see Shamoo. It was so cool to see killer whales do back flips. We also got to speak with one of the trainers too. After that we watched the fireworks over SeaWorld. Then we finally headed back to camp, our arrival time 12am.

Friday, June 28: We all got to finally sleep until 7:00am and then we went to breakfast. After breakfast we went back to camp and packed up all of our stuff. Once we were packed up we went to the bus and headed for home. We arrived home safely from camp La-No-Che. In my opinion it was the best summer camp we ever had!
