Snorkeling Trip 2005

Snorkeling With Manatees

August 19-21, 2005

We left Friday and stopped at a Chick-fil-A to eat. After about three hours of driving we got to a Georgia Power Facility in Valdosta where we spent the night.

Saturday morning we drove for about four more hours to get to where we were camping in Rainbow Springs State Park. Once we got to camp we set up and headed over to Crystal River where we were going to snorkel. But a big thunder storm cam up so we explored instead. When we got back from there, we went down to Rainbow Springs right at the campground and snorkeled there. When we finished, we had dinner and cleaned up, then went to bed.

Sunday morning went on the Manatee tour. We got to touch, see, and swim with them. We also got to swim in a 60-foot-deep spring. Once we got back to camp, we had a Vespers Service, then took down camp and headed home.
