Troop 162 was officially chartered by Mt.
Carmel United Methodist Church in Hampton, Georgia on February
23, 2004. The 14 boys who started this Troop all came from
Pack 162 which is chartered by the same church. (Get Map) Being a new Troop, we had no older boys to help us along.
We addressed this problem by borrowing an Eagle Scout from
an established Troop to be our Senior Patrol Leader. This idea
came from Louis Pesce (District Commissioner - Flint River
Council, Tussahaw District) who wrote his Thesis on the subject.
